Maroc Telecom subsidiary in Togo hit with fine

05 July 2021

Moov Africa Togo, a subsidiary of Maroc Telecom, has been fined DH10m after failing in its obligations.

The move follows a process opened against the operator in October 2020 by the Electronic Communications and Postal Regulatory Authortiy (ARCEP).

"Serious and permanent violation of your liability for permanent and continuous supply of your electronic communications and network services," is the complaint against Moov Africa Togo.

Various disturbances were observed on the operator's network during the months of June-September last year and from March-April 2021, which is the basis for the sanction.
