ADCB Egypt deploys Temenos Payments Hub to boost cross-border payments

29 January 2026

ADCB Egypt, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank Group and one of the leading banks in the UAE, has successfully gone live with Temenos Payments Hub, marking a significant milestone in modernizing its payments infrastructure.

The deployment, carried out in partnership with Temenos Delivery Partner ITSS, aims to deliver faster, more efficient cross-border payments and enhance the bank’s digital capabilities.

The new system enables ADCB Egypt to process SWIFT payments for retail and business clients using the ISO 20022 MX messaging standard. This advanced messaging format offers richer, structured data, improving accuracy and interoperability between banking institutions. By adopting ISO 20022-ready capabilities within Temenos Payments Hub, ADCB Egypt can achieve higher straight-through-processing (STP), reducing manual interventions and accelerating settlement times for customers. The platform also provides centralized orchestration of payment flows, enabling better visibility and control over transactions.

Built on a unified platform that integrates core banking and payments, ADCB Egypt benefits from streamlined operations and enhanced agility. The scalable technology can handle increasing transaction volumes and support future expansion into additional payment types within a single enterprise hub, aligning with the bank’s long-term growth and digital transformation strategies.

Ihab Elswerkey, CEO and Managing Director of ADCB Egypt, emphasized the importance of this milestone: “Digital transformation is a strategic priority for ADCB Egypt, aligned with Egypt’s Vision 2030 to strengthen the financial infrastructure and foster a more inclusive, digitally-driven banking ecosystem. Our go-live with Temenos Payments Hub reflects our ongoing commitment to adopting scalable, innovative technologies that enhance efficiency, resilience, and customer experience. The collaboration with Temenos and ITSS has been instrumental in helping us stay agile, competitive, and ahead of market demands.”

Santhosh Rao, Managing Director for MEA at Temenos, congratulated ADCB Egypt on the successful implementation, stating, “This milestone positions ADCB Egypt as a leader in payments within the Egyptian market. It demonstrates how banks in the region can quickly adapt to change and deliver modern, customer-centric payment services with Temenos’ best-in-class solutions.”

Patrick Jaccoud, CEO of ITSS, highlighted the partnership’s role in driving innovation: “We are proud to support ADCB Egypt’s digital payments strategy. This successful go-live showcases how working alongside Temenos enables forward-thinking institutions to accelerate innovation, scale efficiently, and set new standards for digital payments across the region.”
