Zamani Telecom hires Telrad Networks to upgrade network infrastructure

01 August 2022

Nigerian telecom operator Zamani Telecom SA has finalised the upgrade of its network infrastructure, with help from Israeli company Telrad Networks.

The 4G Long-Term Evolution Time-Division Duplex (LTE-TDD) network deployed on a large scale as part of this project replaces Zamani Telecom's already aging WiMAX network.

This new network provides 100% coverage of Niger's capital, Niamey, as well as major cities. It has also enabled Zamani Telecom to increase its network capacity to serve a growing customer base of more than three million subscribers. In addition, the partnership provides Zamani with a consolidated LTE Tier 2 solution for its business-to-business (B2B) services.

Zamani Com SAS completed the acquisition of Orange Niger in November 2019. Since then, the new entity Zamani Telecom has been increasing investments in its network infrastructure as part of its ambition to become the benchmark mobile operator in Niger.
