Liquid’s Kenya-South Africa fibre to enter service imminently

Liquid Intelligent Technologies has announced imminent entry into service of its 16,576km fibre optic network linking Kenya to South Africa.

Deployed with technology expertise from Nokia, the 12Tb capacity network spans Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, Zimbabwe and the Democratic Republic of Congo. It promises telecom operators and service providers present in these seven telecom markets very high-quality data connectivity to meet customer demands.

The new fibre optic route will provide thousands of businesses and millions of homes in many landlocked cities and towns across Africa with more resilient connectivity and access to multiple data centres and cloud resources. At the same time, it will provide an alternative option in the event of an undersea cable failure between Kenya and South Africa.
