OneWeb service brought to Mozambique

23 February 2023

Internet Solutions/Dimension Data Mozambique has expanded their partnership with Q-KON Africa to bring the leading OneWeb LEO satellite service to the Mozambican market.

The OneWeb low Earth orbit satellite service offers the local market all the benefits of seamless voice and data connectivity, amplified by speeds of up to 100Mbps and latency <100ms.

The OneWeb service will include all the smart satellite service advantages of the current Twoobii IS/Dimension Data portfolio and will be further optimised for cloud access, fibre redundancy and off-grid users who have no access to mainstream LTE, fibre, or microwave networks. The service will provide a feasible alternative for telco backhaul, ISP trunk and enterprise corporate data networks with defined service QoS levels.

The Twoobii-OneWeb service is specifically defined for the Mozambique enterprise, telco, and service provider market with the focus on seamless core integration, committed service levels and enforceable SLAs. For these reasons the DiData Twoobii-OneWeb service is the first low Earth orbit satellite to enter Mozambique for this market sector and will support the business requirements of the entire telco sector. Product provisioning and engineering support will be underwritten by Q-KON Africa, using full end-to-end access to ensure optimum customer service delivery.

“Expanding our partnership with Q-KON Africa for the OneWeb service allows IS/Dimension Data Mozambique to bring the advantages of LEO satellite services to the Mozambican market. In particular the advantages of the Twoobii-OneWeb Smart Satellite Service is well aligned with our market footprint and fits our strategic drive to the telco, service provider and enterprise market sectors,” said De Wet Hugo, IS/Dimension Data Mozambique commercial director.

“The emerging LEO satellite market is set to change the Mozambican industry landscape and we are grateful for IS/Dimension Data’s decision to partner with us in these exciting and promising times. Together we are very well positioned, equipped and experienced to delivering market success using the advanced and innovative OneWeb LEO service,” commented Dawie de Wet, Q-KON Africa CEO. “With the OneWeb service integrated in the Twoobii Smart Satellite Service portfolio we are confident that we will meet the business requirements of the local telco, service provider and enterprise market sectors.”
