During the ceremony, guests were able to test 5G with an average speed of around 2Gbps. Mattel notably presented ultra-broadband applications in the fields of education, health, and the port industry. The guests also tested several real demonstrations of the uses of 5G such as Smart Glasses or VR headsets.
This 5G pilot phase is a first in Mauritania. It is part of Mattel's overall development strategy focused on the development of very high speeds, the improvement of the quality of service, and the promotion of digital. The company also seeks to support the Mauritanian government in the implementation of its digital transition strategy. It announced last October that it had committed to a large investment program aimed at deploying ‘5G Ready’ infrastructure.
This pilot phase should allow Matell to ensure that it is technically ready to deploy commercial ultra-broadband in Mauritania. This is expected to enable the company to meet the growing demand for high-speed connectivity and strengthen its market share.
