The government of Niger State in Nigeria has decided to exempt an unidentified private fibre optic company from paying rights of way for an infrastructure deployment project on its territory.

The plan will see a 40km optical fibre metropolitan ring across Minna installed.

According to current regulations, the company is supposed to pay 145 naira per linear meter of optical fibre installed, which would equate to N5.8 million for the entire project.

This decision is part of the Niger State Government's commitment to fostering an environment conducive to investment of the private sector and technological progress.
