SpaceX Starlink GH LTD, the Ghanaian subsidiary of Starlink, will launch commercial operations in Ghana before the end of August, according to the National Communications Authority (NCA).
The NCA approved Starlink’s application for licenses and began the process in April. Initially reluctant to use Starlink in the country, Ghanaian authorities changed their minds after internet disruptions caused by incidents on various submarine cables serving the country in March. The regulator recommended licensing satellite telecoms operators to prevent such problems and ensure optimal quality of service.
