According to Telkom Consumer CEO Lunga Siyo said the company is building its own ‘content mall,’ bringing together different video streaming services at a lower price than subscribing to each specific offering.
"Instead of investing to become a content producer, we decided to create a content shopping centre. So we become the access. On our platform, you can subscribe to these platforms for a fee that can be lower than if you subscribed directly," said Siyo.
According to Telkom, the most popular platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ will be available in its new offer. The announcement confirms a new attempt to diversify into the audiovisual sector.
