Algeria to expand 4G across Ain Defla

29 October 2024

Algerian Minister of Post and Telecommunications Karim Bibi Triki has launched a project to extend the 4G mobile phone network in Ain Defla. The goal is to cover 1,400 localities with fewer than 2,000 inhabitants across the country's 58 wilayas.

According to Karim Bibi Triki, this project is of great strategic importance, because it contributes to the digital development of the territory and makes it possible to bring together the necessary conditions to achieve the digital transformation in our country, in execution of the directives of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

It is part of the Universal Electronic Communications Service, which aims is to provide every inhabitant, regardless of their geographical location and social status, with means of access to basic telecommunications services, particularly internet access services at affordable prices. Its implementation will support the digital transformation by connecting populations in remote areas to the internet.
