Capgemini has announced plans to open an artificial intelligence (AI) Center of Excellence in Cairo, Egypt, slated for May 2025.

The centre aims to deliver AI development, integration, and consulting services to Capgemini's clients across Europe and the Middle East, leveraging local expertise in the field.

This initiative is part of Capgemini's broader strategy to invest €2 billion globally in AI advancements. The new centre will focus on training local talent in advanced technologies, fostering innovation, and integrating applied research and development of customized AI solutions tailored to client needs. It is also expected to provide specialized training programs to enhance the skills of the workforce in the region.

“Doubling our workforce and establishing this new AI Center of Excellence will not only foster cutting-edge innovation but also create valuable opportunities for local talent to thrive on the international stage,” said Hossam Seifeldin, CEO of Capgemini in Egypt.

Egypt is striving to solidify its position as a regional hub for digital services and AI capabilities. According to the Government AI Readiness Index 2024 by Oxford Insights, Egypt scores 55.63 out of 100 on the AI readiness index, surpassing the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) average of 48.50. This suggests a positive environment for AI development and implementation in the country.
