TerraPay has partnered with Senegalese mobile money provider Wave Mobile Money to enable Malians to receive international remittances directly into their mobile wallets.
This collaboration leverages TerraPay’s extensive global payment network, supporting remittance flows from the US, Canada, and Europe through a single, streamlined interface.
The partnership will also benefit from Orabank Mali’s expertise in remittance services. With over 80% of Mali’s population using mobile phones — many for mobile money and digital wallets — this initiative aims to boost financial inclusion by providing a cost-effective, accessible way for people to access international funds.
Karamokho Badiane, Regional Head at Wave Mobile Money, emphasized that the collaboration supports financial empowerment and economic growth by breaking down barriers to financial access. Willie Kanyeki, TerraPay’s Vice President for Sub-Saharan Africa, highlighted that the partnership is a milestone in enabling instant, affordable, and compliant cross-border remittances, further driving financial inclusion in Mali.
