Algeria Telecom and ANGEM to support micro-enterprises for network deployment

09 June 2025

Algeria Telecom plans to leverage micro-enterprises financed and supported by the National Microcredit Management Agency (ANGEM) to provide services such as trench digging, cable laying, and network maintenance. To facilitate this collaboration, a database of qualified and available companies will be shared between the two institutions, streamlining coordination and networking.

Algeria Telecom seeks to enhance the quality and coverage of its fibre network, especially in regions often underserved by larger providers. By relying on local stakeholders who are more familiar with the terrain, the company aims to reduce delivery times and costs. For ANGEM, this partnership offers an opportunity to boost employment and ensure the sustainability of micro-enterprises created through microcredit.

Looking ahead, the collaboration could expand to other areas of digital development, such as equipment maintenance or raising public awareness about ICT.
