The Ghanaian government and Helios Towers have reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening the country’s telecommunications sector and advancing its digital transformation goals.

This renewed partnership was highlighted during a recent courtesy visit by Helios Towers Group CEO, Tom Greenwood, along with his team, to Ghana’s Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP).

During the meeting, Tom Greenwood shared Helios Towers’ strategic plans for Ghana, emphasizing its ongoing commitment to expanding neutral tower infrastructure and delivering vital ICT training to over 2,000 students. He highlighted Helios Towers’ long-standing presence in Ghana, noting that after 15 years of operations, the company intends to continue investing in the country for at least the next 15 years. This signals a strong, long-term partnership with the government aimed at fostering inclusive digital development and expanding connectivity across Ghana.

Minister Samuel Nartey George praised the rapid growth of Ghana’s telecom sector, driven by the proliferation of affordable services, increasing data demand, and widespread smartphone adoption. He expressed optimism about future expansion efforts, focusing on enhancing network coverage and improving digital infrastructure. The Minister emphasized that collaboration with Helios Towers will play a vital role in attracting investment, expanding network reach, and providing critical ICT training — initiatives that are expected to significantly transform Ghana’s digital landscape and promote economic development.
