This collaboration aims to transform Kenya’s agricultural sector by harnessing advanced satellite data and analytics to improve crop management, soil health, and climate resilience.
Through this alliance, SatSure’s expertise in satellite imagery, remote sensing, and artificial intelligence will be integrated with KALRO’s extensive research infrastructure. The goal is to enable data-driven decision-making across the agricultural value chain, offering actionable insights for crop monitoring, yield predictions, and climate adaptation strategies.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will facilitate pilot projects, joint research efforts, and the development of digital tools tailored to support government agencies, agribusinesses, and farmers. By combining SatSure’s geospatial intelligence with KALRO’s on-the-ground knowledge, the partnership aims to bolster Kenya’s agricultural resilience and contribute to national food security objectives.
“This marks a major step towards enabling data-driven policymaking, enhancing food security, and empowering smallholder farmers with near-real-time insights into crop health, weather patterns, and sustainable practices,” said Dhruva Rajan, Chief Revenue Officer at SatSure.
“Our collaboration with SatSure aligns with our goal of integrating technology into agricultural research and extension services. By leveraging satellite-based analytics, we can better understand climate impacts, optimise resource use, and provide farmers with precise, timely information to improve productivity,” said Salim Kinyimu, ICT Director at KALRO.
