Marking a significant milestone in its rapid growth across the continent, Paratus Group, a pan-African telecommunications and network services provider, announced the launch of Paratus Uganda through a joint venture with Kampala-based Roke Telkom Ltd.

This new venture aims to unify and expand the connectivity offerings provided by Roke Telkom in Uganda and Paratus Group’s broader international operations, delivering comprehensive full-service connectivity solutions for enterprise customers in Uganda and the surrounding region. Paratus Uganda also plans to target emerging industry sectors such as healthcare, mining, tourism, and NGOs.

Roke Telkom, Uganda’s leading internet service provider and managed solutions provider with over 19 years of experience, has built an extensive network of metro fibre rings across major cities in Uganda. The company offers integrated networks, security, and managed infrastructure services to government, retail, and security clients, making it a key regional player in enterprise connectivity. According to Edwin Kyambadde, Roke’s representative for Paratus Uganda, the partnership combines Roke’s local strength and coverage with Paratus Group’s extensive African and global connectivity, creating a formidable regional partner for both local and international enterprise clients. He highlighted the skilled technical teams across Uganda, capable of delivering fast, robust, and high-quality connectivity, signalling an exciting time for Uganda’s digital landscape.

Paratus Group CEO Schalk Erasmus expressed enthusiasm about entering Uganda, emphasizing that the expansion not only broadens the Group’s footprint into another vital African market but also enhances connectivity between neighbouring countries, reinforcing its contiguous network offering.

Group Commercial Executive Martin Cox stated that establishing Paratus Uganda in partnership with Roke is a key element of the Group’s broader expansion strategy across Africa, demonstrating its commitment to delivering high-quality network services continent-wide. He added that the collaboration with Roke underscores Paratus’ dedication to forming strategic local partnerships to strengthen its presence across Africa.
