Under the partnership, Hayo will conduct testing and analysis to identify and prevent fraud across Zamani’s traffic, originally operated by Orange Niger. The goal is to build a more sustainable and trustworthy A2P SMS ecosystem. Additionally, Hayo will implement innovative pricing strategies designed to increase overall traffic volumes and prioritize high-value over-the-top (OTT) segments, ensuring a better revenue model for Zamani.
Hayo’s SMS Firewall solution will play a critical role by detecting and blocking illegitimate A2P SMS traffic being routed through grey routes—unofficial pathways that bypass official channels. The technology guarantees that all A2P messages are terminated via white-listed routes, ensuring proper billing and compliance. This reliable model allows global giants such as Alibaba, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Meta, TikTok, and others to deliver A2P SMS traffic securely and efficiently within Niger.
Paul Loveridge, Executive Vice President for Carrier Services at Hayo, stated, “Our partnership with Zamani will increase its competitiveness and help maximize the value of all traffic on its network. As the international telecom landscape grows more complex, we’re focused on adding value for our customers and advising on the right solutions to ensure success.”
Feraz Ahmed, CEO of Hayo, added, “Our A2P monetization strategies and SMS Firewall solutions are designed to eliminate fraud and proactively block illegitimate traffic. We’re bringing innovative, on-the-ground solutions to Niger that will benefit the entire mobile ecosystem in the country.”
This collaboration marks a significant step forward for Zamani Telecom as it seeks to optimize its A2P messaging revenue, safeguard its network, and strengthen its position in the competitive West African telecom market.
