Safaricom Ethiopia has launched its telecom network and services in five additional cities in Ethiopia this week, expanding its geographical presence to 16 cities.
The network is now operational in the towns of Sebeta, Dessie, Kombolcha, Jimma and Shashemene.
Safaricom Ethiopia is continuing its gradual rollout across the East African country. The network was already available in the cities of Dire Dawa, Harar, Haramaya, Adama, Bahir Dar, Bishoftu, Mojo, Debre Birhan, Awoday, Gondar and Addis Ababa. The company plans to serve 25 cities and 25% of the population by April 2023.
