Cameroon Telecoms (Camtel) plans to connect with Sudachad Telecom to break into the Chadian enterprise market.

Camtel's head of international sales coordination and planning department, Justin Tala, said that Camtel is targeting the enterprise segment in the subregion and will outline an acceptable partnership model with Sudachad.

The parties also talked about the West to East Africa Network Access, a 3,500km-long terrestrial optical fibre line that spans from Port-Sudan to the Red Sea, and is being built by Camtel, SudaChad Telecom, and Sudatel.

Camtel officials said that the company will take immediate steps to address power shortages and network degradation to improve the availability of services offered to Sudachad. Camtel pledged to resolve unlawful connectivity in Chad and to increase Sudachad's internet service from 25Gb to 40Gb within three months.
