The Tunisian Ministry of Communication Technologies has announced the deployment of Starlink services for a three month trial period. Tunis, Gabès and Ariana have received the kits and terminals.
One of the aims of the trial is to compare satellite internet connection technologies with those currently accessible in the country, such as connections via telecom operators, submarine cables and fibre optics. Like most African states, Tunisia is looking for alternatives to connect the majority of its population, particularly those in landlocked and/or remote areas.
