The platform integrates enterprise resource planning (ERP), point of sale (POS), and cash register systems into a unified digital platform designed to modernise operations across various sectors.
Hosted on Ethio Telecom’s TeleCloud infrastructure, Zoorya aims to support enterprises in industries such as hospitality, import/export, manufacturing, and retail by streamlining workflows, enhancing service delivery, and fostering data-driven decision-making. The company highlighted that Zoorya will enable faster transactions, promote operational transparency, and facilitate secure, contactless business activities — key steps toward building a cashless society in Ethiopia.
Ethio Telecom has also integrated Zoorya with its Telebirr mobile money system, which boasts over 54 million users, to expand its reach and usability. Telebirr will take a leading role in promoting and distributing Zoorya to merchants across different sectors. Dashen Bank is playing a crucial role in facilitating the procurement process by providing foreign currency for importing the necessary equipment, and offering innovative financing options such as a “buy now, pay later” scheme for service providers. Additionally, the bank will facilitate easier payments by integrating Zoorya with its payment services.
The partners aim to deploy Zoorya to more than 10,000 merchants within the next two years, supporting Ethiopia’s ongoing digital transformation efforts and helping local businesses operate more efficiently in an increasingly cashless economy.
