Comorian authorities unveil new digital mission for Directorate of Information Systems and Communication

15 July 2025

During last week’s Council of Ministers meeting, the authorities of the Comoros introduced the renewed objectives of the Directorate of Information Systems and Communication (DSIC).

Reporting directly to the Ministry of Finance, the DSIC will now be tasked with developing and executing the government’s digital policy, leading the nation’s digital transformation efforts, and bolstering cybersecurity measures.

This strategic initiative aims to enhance administrative efficiency and drive the country’s digital modernisation agenda. The Council of Ministers highlighted the importance of close collaboration between the DSIC and the Ministry of the Digital Economy and Telecommunications to ensure alignment and coherence in future initiatives.

The establishment of this structure is intended to improve the efficiency of public administration, especially within financial institutions that are central to budget transparency, tracking public flows, and integrating information systems across government departments. If successfully implemented, the DSIC could serve as a key driver in the digitalisation of public services and promote interoperability between different government agencies.
