Avanti Communications extends partnership with Türksat

14 November 2025

Avanti Communications has expanded its collaboration with Türksat through a new agreement aimed at increasing high-capacity connectivity across Africa, with a focus on underserved regions in Southern Africa. Building on their initial partnership established in 2019, Avanti has secured additional capacity on Türksat’s high-throughput satellite (HTS) Türksat 5B.

This enhanced collaboration is designed not only to deliver reliable and seamless connectivity to enterprise customers throughout Southern Africa but also to serve as a catalyst for strategic inter-operator partnerships that can spur growth within the regional telecoms industry. The new deal allows South African partners to leverage the combined capabilities and satellite capacity of both companies, according to Debbie Mavis, Director of Avanti Communications.

Mavis stated that partnering with Türksat enables Avanti to meet the rising demand for GEO satellite services in Southern Africa and to expand connectivity to communities and businesses that need it most. She emphasised that the partnership will support regional development and improve digital access in underserved areas.

Türksat’s Vice President of Satellite Operations, Dr. Selman Demirel, highlighted South Africa as a key growth market for the satellite operator. He noted that Avanti’s strong local presence and deep understanding of regional connectivity needs make them an ideal partner for Türksat’s expansion efforts in the region.
