At the Africa Tech Festival in Cape Town, Eutelsat and Paratus announced a multi-year, multi-million dollar partnership to expand the deployment of OneWeb’s Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite services throughout Southern Africa.

Building on their existing collaboration, the agreement aims to deliver high-speed, low-latency connectivity solutions to a broader range of customers and businesses in regions including South Africa, Angola, Namibia, Botswana, and Zambia. The partnership addresses the increasing need for reliable and resilient connectivity — from remote industrial sites to enterprise and community networks.

“By combining Eutelsat’s LEO capabilities with Paratus’ extensive network and operational presence, we are enabling organisations to stay connected wherever they operate,” said Ghassan Murat, Regional Vice President for Middle East and Africa at Eutelsat.

Schalk Erasmus, CEO of Paratus, emphasised that expanding their LEO service offerings with Eutelsat is part of a strategic effort to deliver adaptable and robust connectivity solutions across Africa. He added, “together, we can serve our clients more effectively and efficiently, supporting their growth and digital transformation — even in the most challenging environments.”
