05 December 2025

Telkom Indonesia has officially launched its 28th neuCentrIX edge data centre, marking the first facility of its kind in Jayapura, located in the eastern province of Papua.

Telkom stated that the Jayapura data centre features a total capacity of 96 racks and adheres to Tier-II international security standards.

The neuCentrIX Jayapura data centre aims to serve the local market and surrounding areas, providing a robust digital infrastructure to support government and business sectors in the region. Telkom’s commissioner, Rizal Mallarangeng, highlighted that the facility also contributes to the national Asta Cita program, which seeks to equalise digital infrastructure across Indonesia and promote digital sovereignty.

“The equitable distribution of digital access throughout Indonesia, including Papua, is a core part of the nation’s vision for digital independence,” Mallarangeng said. “Telkom’s efforts go beyond building networks and infrastructure — they create an ecosystem that paves the way for a new era of modern digital sovereignty.”

The Papua Provincial Government emphasised that the neuCentrIX Jayapura data centre will play a significant role in accelerating digital transformation efforts in the region.

“By expanding our data centre network to Papua, we are committed to ensuring equitable digital access for all levels of society, supporting a resilient regional digital ecosystem, and preparing for future technological demands,” said Telkom’s President Director, Dian Siswarini.
